Composite Builders is proud to announce their involvement in the development and manufacturing of Foilborne Boatworks 40’ powerboat. The Foilborne 40’, designed by Morelli and Melvin is a powerful and spacious foil assisted yacht providing a long-range and fuel-efficient ride.
This highly customizable yacht comes in three configurations: center console, walk-around cabin, and cabin forward. Its stepped foil assisted hull delivers a fuel-efficient, smooth ride at 35-45 knots cruising speed, and 60 knots top speed. The catamaran was chosen over a monohull for its stability and reduced drag. The spacious hulls are designed with a cabin and fully outfitted head.
To deliver a lightweight, high-performance vessel, the boat is produced in a sandwich lamination process with infused fiberglass, carbon fiber, and a closed-cell foam core. To ensure long term loading in tough environments the hull will be post-cured in our 1,200 sq. ft. modular oven using our “Electro Heat” heaters and thermology data controls. The post-cure process allows a stiffer cure to the epoxy cross-links, a key factor to further enhance its performance.
